The weekend was busy with a wedding on the Saturday and the lifestyle shoot of Darcie and Harriet on the Sunday. It was the girls christening so we decided to get shots of the whole family throughout the day, proud parents, grandparents, cousins and family. More images can be seen on my facebook page - Andy Fountain Photography

It’s was nice to shoot Saturdays wedding in the beautiful village of Godmanchester, I seem to travel all over the UK, so a wedding so close to home was cool. Victoria and William got married in Godmanchester church with the reception being held at The Gables, one of the oldest houses in the village dating back to the 1600’s. The Gables was once a working farm and gave us a perfect backdrop for some great shots of the couple.

I have just returned from a great pre wedding shoot with Sarah and Simon who will be getting married at the beautiful Barrington Hall in September. I met the couple in Godmanchester and spent the morning exploring the surrounding countryside and shooting some beautiful images. The weather was glorious which really brought out the richness and colours in the greenery and rivers and Sarah and Simon really got in to the shoot and seemed to relax in minutes getting in to the romantic swing of things. Hopefully they left enjoying the shoot as much as I did and will appreciate the fun shot we did in the graveyard?

I know Ailish’s parents through the wedding world and this shoot was a present from them for finisher her exams. We spent three hours trekking around the Cambridgshire countryside exploring various areas that I pass when I go running. Ailish wanted some very natural shots and we decided to keep a more country feel to the session with the odd urban background for contrast.

I had my work cut out on Friday when I photographed the Bradford family and had to try and keep up with young Charlie who was a real live wire. We decided to hold the shoot in Priory Park near St Neots as there is a great play area for the children to play in a plenty of space for them to run around. I would say this shoot was the most challenging of the year so far, but we got some great natural shots of the children having fun and I’m sure mum and dad will love them.

Ickworth House was the stunning background for todays pre wedding shoot of Jessica and Richard. The couple will be getting married at Ickworth in July and if we have weather like we had today, it will be a wedding to remember as the house and gardens are a photographers dream.

I was confronted by another hot day when I arrived at the Cuney household in Cambridge. The brief was to capture little Daniel with his grandparents who had come across from France. With neither speaking English and my French being pretty basic, I thought we may encounter some problems, but children just seem to bring all those around them together. We spent an hour letting Daniel totter around the garden, exploring anything he could get his hands on and generally having fun with all his family.

Ravenwood Hall near Bury St Edmunds was the location for my pre wedding shoot this morning. As I have not shot a Ravenwood for a few years, I decided to meet Emma & Elliot there so they could show me their dreams and why they booked this particular venue. My memories of Ravenwood were of an idilic venue set amongst the most beautiful grounds and gardens and I wasn’t disappointed, in fact it was far nicer than I remembered. Emma and Elliot were great fun to photograph and I am looking forward to their big day in July, especially the theme they have planned which will really give the wedding a funky edge….watch this space on this one!!

I shot the pre wedding session of Stephanie and Doug at Hambleton Hall yesterday. Hambleton Hall is situated on a peninsular of Rutland water and commands both beautiful views of the lake and surrounding countryside. I am going to shoot Stephanie and Dougs wedding in a totally different style to most and probably won’t say a word to them all day. I will definitely be utilising a full documentary or fly on the wall style of photography which will test my artistic flare and ability to capture the essence of the day.

Kimbolton Castle was the location for yesterdays shoot and what a fun time I had. The sun was shinning on Claire and Conor when I met them in Kimbolton village for a quick look around the church before heading off to the castle for their pre wedding session. They seemed to have a great time and really appreciate my sense of humour and style as we walked around the castle grounds with me getting excited at every feature. I get such a feeling of satisfaction when I capture some beautiful romantic moments between a couple in love.
