Busy period

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

It’s been such a busy time at the studio over the last few weeks, that I’ve not had much time to update the blog with all that is going on! Once I get the Swynford Hotel wedding fair out of the way, I’ll get on to letting you know all what I’ve been up to recently.

Nicola & Jonny’s wedding at Sheene Mill

Monday, August 29th, 2011

After a long wedding on Saturday, the thought of rain all day at Nicola and Jonny’s wedding filled me with intrepidation. But I had no need to worry, as apart from a down poor mid afternoon, we were again blessed with some glorious weather. The wedding was held at Sheene Mill near Royston, and was organised to perfection with so many unique surprises through the day.  We were treated to an out door ceremony under a beautiful gazebo baked in sunshine, perfect for the setting on the edge of the river Mel. For me, the highlight of the day was the love and energy that flowed as the guests partied the night away, I got some really fun shots.

Nicola & Jonny Pre Wedding Shoot in Huntingdon

Sunday, July 10th, 2011

Nicola and Jonny will be getting married in August at Sheen Mill near Cambridge and seem very excited about their big day plans. We shot their pre wedding images at Houghton Marina on the edge of the river Cam near Huntingdon and got some great images in changeable weather. I do love it when the sun comes out for a shoot, but it’s good practice when it’s a mixture of sun and cloud, it certsinly keeps you on your toes.

Sophie & Charles wedding at Buckden Towers, Cambridgeshire

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

I’ve been shooting weddings for over twenty years now and must say that the wedding of Sophie and Charles at Buckden Towers was the wettest so far. The day was a mixture of bright sunshine and heavy rain storms, sometimes both at the same time, making conditions for photography very difficult. But with a big smile always on their faces, Sophie and Charles braved the conditions and we got some beautiful images in between the downpours.

Ariuna & Robert’s wedding in Cambridge

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

I shot  the most beautiful bespoke wedding at  the Midsummer House restaurant in Cambridge on Saturday and what a great day I had. With only six guests it was a very intimate ceremony as Ariuna and Robert shared their vows and were pronounced man and wife at the Cambridge registry office. We then headed off to one of the best, if not the best restaurant in Cambridgeshire, Midsummer House, were we got some very fun and intimate shots.

New Queensberry Press albums

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

Everyone has a story to tell, and for decades Queensberry albums has been about crafting those stories into beautiful objects to remember forever. But the way they do so has been changing dramatically, and the new Queensberry Press range of albums takes this further.  Instead of traditional photographic printing, the Queensberry Press uses digital offset technology to create – not beautiful albums, but beautiful books … and the two are very different…

Albums are a luxury for many people. Books by their nature are more accessible and affordable. They hold more images, and they’re as comfortable with text as with pictures. All those characteristics open the door to exciting new applications - as companions to a feature album for example, or to record a child’s milestones, a portrait sitting, an anniversary or a reunion. Now anyone with a story to tell or memories to share can do so.

Queensberry at it’s best

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Queensberry have just released a sneak preview of their new album, the Musee. With pages made from beautiful archival cotton based watercolour papers from the same paper mill that Monet bought his papers from and a leather cover from the same mill that supplies to Hermes, a box design that dates back to the voyages of Captain Cook…

I think the Musee will attract a lot of attention and give the bride and groom that want something extra special a dream album. As soon as I can get an example, I’ll let all my clients know.
