Well 2012 has started slow for me as I struggle to overcome a bad case of bronchitis? I was hoping to get back in to the studio on the 6th January but, the more work I do, the worse my chest infection gets?? I’m working from home at present and will be taking it easy until things clear up for good. Apologies to those of you that are waiting for an email or call, I will get around to it and I’m answering my messages as quickly as possible.

Ireland Baby Lifestyle shoot
Monday, April 18th, 2011I was back with the Ireland family this afternoon to capture a few more shots of baby Liam with mum and dad. We last photographed Liam just before Christmas when he was only four weeks old and how he has grown is the last four months.

Book authors publicity shots
Friday, April 8th, 2011I had an interesting assignment on Wednesday when I shot an authors publicity images for her new book. The book is a thriller set in the 1500’s with the main character coming from Cambridge, so finding backgrounds with the right architecture was out first priority. Even though I know Cambridge quite well, it surprised me how many areas we visited that I never knew existed.

Playing with HDR
Friday, February 18th, 2011In case you do not know we live in a digital age, people are using digital phography and we are seeing some very interesting techniques being developed. High Dynamic Range is a very powerful and interesting new technological breakthrough which may well have some scope to be used in my future wedding images? Not wanting to start at a wedding, I shot some test images of my car and converted them to HDR. The first shot is a raw image straight from the camera with only minor adjustments, the second has been converted to HDR and had some obvious photoshop work. The third image in my opinion is taking HDR a little to far, but it still gives an amazing affect.

Ansel Maternity Shoot
Saturday, January 29th, 2011I get asked to do lot’s of baby shoots but very few maternity shoots, in fact this was he first for many years and the last was in a studio. So I was very excited when Charlene and Dean asked me to photograph their bump, only a few days before the expected delivery date. As most photographers now shoot maternity shots in a studio on either a black or white backdrop, I decided to stick to my principles and keep the shoot very natural. We started the shots at Charlene’s parents house, getting some intimate images of Charlene and Dean and letting them get comfortable with the shoot. Though these shots are all very nice, it was still not what I was looking for so I suggested we find a natural rural backdrop. With the couple agreeing, we headed out and the remainder of the shoot took place on a farm near St Neots. With Charlene braving the cold and being game with my posing suggestions, we ended up with some beautiful images I’m proud of.

Ireland Baby Shoot
Sunday, December 19th, 2010Last week I had such a fun time photographing 4 week old baby Liam and his proud parents at their home near Huntingdon. Liam made a perfect model and we got some precious images that will make memories that last a lifetime, who says don’t work with children and animals?

Liz & ed’s Pre Wedding shoot
Thursday, October 28th, 2010Liz and Ed will be getting married at Hinchingbrooke House near Huntingdon later on this year and we thought it was about time we got their pre wedding images shot. We met at the studio and decided to venture out in to Fenstanton, an area Liz knows well from her childhood. Hinchingbrooke House is a beautiful wedding venue to hold a winter wedding and with such a great relaxed couple, I’m sure the images will be memories they will cherish forever.

Shah family lifestyle shoot
Wednesday, August 25th, 2010After spending the last few days resting with a bad back, and last night taking care of a poorly son, I thought todays shoot with the Shah family would test all my professionalism, but nothing could be further from the truth!! Spending a morning running around a garden with hyper 2, 4 and 6 year old children isn’t everyones cup of tea, but I love it, especially when you end up with some great shots you know the family will cherish. The children kept me on my toes as we played hide and seek and tea parties whilst trying to get natural shots of them in perfect light. I left with a huge smile on my face and a lovely thank you letter from Aydna.
