I was confronted by another hot day when I arrived at the Cuney household in Cambridge. The brief was to capture little Daniel with his grandparents who had come across from France. With neither speaking English and my French being pretty basic, I thought we may encounter some problems, but children just seem to bring all those around them together. We spent an hour letting Daniel totter around the garden, exploring anything he could get his hands on and generally having fun with all his family.

They say don’t photograph babies and animals but I seem to relish the challenge and get some great results. This morning I was lucky enough to have a great shoot with baby Lowri and proud parents Rachel and John. Lowri was so much fun to photograph, but kept me on my toes a she crawled around the garden and local fields. You can tell a young child or adult were to stand for the best light, but a baby determined to explore everything around her doesn’t care were the perfect light is. As soon as I saw the little bird bath, I knew I had to utilise it even though I was aware we would all get wet.

I have just returned from a cool lifestyle shoot with the Molly and William and what fun we had. Why people say never photograph children I’ll never know, because I find it so rewarding when you view your shots and see their happy smiley faces, memories that mum and dad will cherish forever.

Today I visited the lovely village of Alconbury for the pre wedding shoot of Jo and Andrew. I drove there through light rain which luckily lifted when I arrived and we were able to get some lovely shots of the couple. Most of the shoot was spent having fun next to the village green and the brook made a lovely backdrop for the more romantic shots.

We had more nice weather today for the pre wedding shoot of Sharon and Dave. The couple were great fun to work with and seemed to really enjoy themselves whilst I dragged them around Fenstanton. The happy couple are getting married in April at Hinchingbroke House near Huntingdon and I’m sure the day is going to be a real blast and so much fun to shoot.

I had the pleasure of shooting the pre wedding session of Nicola and Daniel at my studio in Fenstanton this morning. The weather was consistent yet again and we had to contend with both snow showers and the cold, but the smiles and laughter never stopped and the couple seemed to enjoy themselves. There are some great locations around the studio and both Nicola and Daniel really got in to the shoot and the urban feel we introduced. They are getting married in March at the Old Bridge Hotel, Huntingdon, a great wedding venue on the edge of the Great Ouse.

I met Flora in St Ives on Wednesday to shoot some shots for her letting agency business in Cambridge. After getting the images she required the shoot then developed in to a mini lifestyle session. It was a very cold day and Flora seemed to cope well with my one more shot routine.

This was one of the coldest shoots I have done for several years. The temperature was hovering around -2 degrees and after twenty minutes outside, you could really feel the cold. However, the Morris family didn’t let the cold weather and snow stop them from having some fun and the shots really have a wintery feel. We chose Brampton Woods near Huntingdon for the location of the shoot, a perfect background at this time of the year.

Today I dodged the weather to shoot the Cockshot family portrait at Brampton Mill near Huntingdon, Cambridgshire. There was no chance of putting this portrait off as one of the family members had flown in from Canada and this was the only date available. With constant showers we had to keep seeking shelter under umbrellas and a railway viaduct which provided a great background for some of the images.
