Stephanie & Doug’s Wedding at Hambleton Hall

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

I had the pleasure in photographing the wedding of Stephanie and Doug at Hambleton Hall on Sunday and what a fantastic day it was. I really do think I have one of the best jobs in the world and always look forward to shooting a wedding at Hambleton Hall, with it’s stunning views and amazing gardens. My brief for the day was slightly different from most weddings as it was purely reportage with no set up shots at all which gave me full freedom to roam and shoot naturally. We went for a walk in the gardens and I left all the posed shots to my young assistant Tino, who will one day make an amazing photographer.

Hambleton Hall Pre Wedding

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

I shot the pre wedding session of Stephanie and Doug at Hambleton Hall yesterday. Hambleton Hall is situated on a peninsular of Rutland water and commands both beautiful views of the lake and surrounding countryside.  I am going to shoot Stephanie and Dougs wedding in a totally different style to most and probably won’t say a word to them all day. I will definitely be utilising a full documentary or fly on the wall style of photography which will test my artistic flare and ability to capture the essence of the day.

Wedding Fairs

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I will be exhibiting at two more weddings fairs over the next few months. The first is at Wood Green, near Huntingdon on the 28th Feb from 11am until 4pm. The second will be at Normanton Park Hotel on the South Shore of Rutland water near Oakham on the 28th March. Going on past experience, both shows should prove very useful for next years bookings.

Normanton Park Hotel, Rutland

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Yesterday I photographed the new conservatory at Normanton Park Hotel in Rutland. Normanton Park is situated on the edge of Rutland water, nestled  in trees making it a beautiful settings for a wedding. The new conservatory has a lake view and will no doubt prove very popular this summer. I always relish shooting weddings at Normanton as I always get a very warm welcome from the hotel staff and there are endless opportunities to capture stunning images in the extensive grounds.

Karen & Bram Wedding

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

I shot my first wedding of the year yesterday at Hambleton Hall near Oakham in Rutland. I must admit I arrived with some relief for the wedding of Karen and Bram after a stressful drive in the severe snowy conditions. The Hall looked beautiful covered in snow and Karen and Bram where both up for some fun and we had a great time outside playing in the snow. I must say what a great shot Karen’s sister Rachel is with a snowball and I was lucky enough to capture a shot as a perfectly aimed snowball hit Karen on the back of the head, happily she saw the funny side!!

Ladywood Estate Shoot

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

I had a fantastic shoot yesterday at an exclusive wedding venue Ladywood Estate near Oakham in Rutland. Ladywood is an amazing venue to hold a wedding with extensive lush grounds and an interior to die for. Every photographer dreams of shooting a wedding at a venue like this and I wasn’t going to let the opportunity go by without capturing some truly stunning images. The bride Mary wore an exclusive CoCo Courtue designer dress from Pronuptia of Cambridge and her groom Ed was kitted out with his formal attire from the menswear department of Pronuptia. A big thank you goes out to Hannah of ‘Hand Maid Wedding & Events’ for organising the day and providing a warm reception. Hannah provides a fantastic wedding planner service as well as running the wedding side of Ladywood Estate. Mary’s hair and makeup was done by Elaje hair salon which is next to Pronuptia in Cambridge.
